From time to time, MIT Sloan Management Review publishes high-quality content funded by sponsors on our website. Such content is developed and overseen by MIT SMR Connections, a custom-content creation unit that operates independently from the MIT SMR editorial group.
MIT SMR accepts sponsored content in two categories: (1) sponsored content, which is commissioned by a sponsor and developed by MIT SMR Connections, and (2) sponsor’s content, which is produced by the sponsor and edited by MIT SMR Connections.
Both are always unambiguously labeled, and the sponsor is always clearly identified. MIT SMR Connections welcomes sponsor input during the content development process, but retains control over the final product.
The MIT SMR leadership team ensures that custom content is relevant to MIT SMR’s audience. Our custom-content guidelines state that sponsored content must be informative for our readers and aligned with our mission to bring new research and ideas to thoughtful managers.
However, sponsored content does not reflect the views of MIT or of MIT SMR’s editors, and the presence of sponsored content is not an endorsement of a sponsor’s products or services.
In addition, sponsors have no influence on editorial decisions, including what we choose to write about. Editorial coverage of any of our advertisers or sponsors may be flattering or unflattering, as a story warrants.
